‘Nigerian institutions are being asked to do harder things than they were built for. In every one of those situations, the binding constraint is rarely capital or technology. It is capability: whether the people responsible understand what is being asked of them, and can act on it under pressure. Flowpond Academy exists for that gap.’

‘Most corporate training fails quietly. The room is full, the evaluations are warm, and nothing changes. We teach through decisions: every session is built around a judgement a participant actually has to make, whether to approve a facility, how to allocate a risk, what to tell a board.’

How our programmes work

No programme runs longer than three days, and most run for two. Subjects with genuine depth are delivered as a staged series rather than one exhausting week, with consecutive parts about four weeks apart so participants apply the first part before returning for the next.

All fourteen multi-part series run in full during 2027, with every part dated before the year begins. Registering for a complete series in advance attracts a package rate, letting a sponsor commit a cohort to a full development path in one purchase order.

A staged series in up to three parts

  1. 01

    Part 1: Introductory (2 days)

Foundations, vocabulary and core method. Open to participants with no prior background.

  2. 02

    Part 2: Intermediate (2 days)

Core techniques and applied practice. Offered in three-part series only.

  3. 03

Final: Advanced & Capstone (3 days)

Advanced application with a capstone exercise in which participants produce and defend real work.

Sectors we serve

  • Banking, Microfinance & Financial Services

Approximately 785 microfinance banks remain licensed following the Central Bank's revocation of 46 non-compliant licences from 1 July 2026, on grounds that point directly at governance, risk and reporting capability. We offer 39 programmes anchored by a full basic-to-advanced credit curriculum, plus MFB governance, regulatory reporting and portfolio-at-risk programmes.

  • Public Sector & Government

Public institutions are held to standards of transparency and performance that did not exist a decade ago. We offer 18 programmes covering public sector leadership, budgeting and financial administration, accounting and fraud, governance, council memoranda and AI skilling.

  • Asset Management & Pensions

PenCom has raised minimum capital for Pension Fund Administrators from ₦5bn to ₦20bn and for Custodians from ₦2bn to ₦25bn, with a compliance deadline of 31 December 2026. We offer portfolio and asset management, ESG investing, corporate governance, risk management, and AI for Asset Management and Pension Operators.

  • MSMEs & Development Finance

Nigeria has over 40 million MSMEs contributing 46–50% of GDP and 87.9% of employment, yet only around 4% secure a bank loan. Flowpond holds BDSP appointments with the Bank of Industry and NIRSAL. We offer entrepreneurship and business start-up, financial acumen for non-financial leaders, SME banking, and AI for MSMEs and Growing Businesses.

  • Energy & Health

Both sectors are cited among Nigeria's highest-priority applications for artificial intelligence, and both carry operating and safety constraints that make responsible adoption a governance question. We offer AI for the Energy and Health sectors, project finance, trade and commodity finance, risk management and governance programmes.
